maybe not but a little info would help, how old is tank? how's your parameters ? hows your salinity? did you acclimated them.? you can give them a little push and see if there's any movement..

tank is 10mo old I dont have all the readings handy but I know the salt was 1.023 and the ammonia was 0. these snails were not shippied in water they were wrapped in wet paper. Were going to try to move them to one spot then were can see if they move around

I'm in the same boat as you. I added about 10 2 days ago and they have yet to move.

Anybody know if there is an easy way to tell if they are dead or not?

snails are really sensity to salinity fluctuations and they prefer an average of 1.024-1.026 salinity. so if they still alive they been stuned and are slowly getting used to new enviroment.

If they haven't moved in several days, you can pick them up out of the water and smell them. If they stink, then they're dead.
