If the Mexican Turbo is the same species I had at ome time, I would vote for the other. I was constantly setting the darn things bach up-right.
Though I did have 100 of them
Are they a reddish color?

Those snails that you always had to put up-right are not the Mexican Turbos but the Turbo "Astrea" Snails. I like how the corraline grows on the Mexicans and how some of mine even have featherdusters. I dont think corraline can grow on a cowrie's shell nor can featherdusters make a home.

I gess I'm not familiar with the Mouse Cowrie.
The ones I mentioned were the Red Foot Moon Snail (Norrisia sp.)
I've got a bunch of Astrea now. They aren't as bad as the Red Foot.

I had three Red Foot Moon snails before, thought they were kinda cool and did a good job on algea. For what ever reason I never seem to keep the Mexican Turbo's alive for long, no matter how long I acclimate them.
What problem did you experience with the RFMSnails?

When I ordered them I only ordered 30, and they sent 100. They ate everything in site, which is good {sort of}.
Most were 1 inch + in size. If one dies, the water will fowl out real quick. I ended up putting some in a tank that had a V Puffer in it, not too smart on my part. CC stars love them too.
I sold most of them, but having too many all at once was the only real problem besides my groupers knocking them off the glass and having to up-right them all the time.
At the same time, I had ordered 50 Margarita (Margarites pupillus) and got 100+ of them critters.
Up to my eyeballs in snails at that time.

Sorry, I am snail challenged. I could tell you the ID and names of many, many, fish but not one snail. All I know is that I have three kinds of snails, and that I have to look daily to turn over any that fall upside down. I have some that look like pointed hats that I have seen do this wierd mateing thing in the tank where a group of them went up to the highest rock and blew white stuff into the water. It was one of the neatest things that I have ever seen. They all looked like they were sending smoke signals in long puffs of white stuff into the water. This lasted for maybe a half an hour or so. The looked like they were standing up on the tips of their feet as they pumped out this smoke (sperm?). A few weeks later I noticed a lot of tiny baby snails in the tank. Who has a favorite snail? I guess the queen conch is my favorite.....little too big for my tank! Lesley
