Snowflake eel?

Greetings all,
This morning I turned on my aquarium lighting and with in fractions of a second I saw what appeared to be a eelish looking creature but it vanished so quickly I didn't get to really see it. I did a notice stripe like pattern and it was about 3-4 inches long. Could this have been a snowflake eel. How big are they when they are babies.
I added some new live rock pretty good size about a week ago.

I seriously doubt you got a snowflake as a hitch hiker. More likely some sort of worm.

I thought the same thing, but there is like a newly made cave entrance going under one of my rocks. I already discovered a new emerald crab from the newly added live rock. Pretty good size to. Once piece had about a three inch hole in the center and one side was covered in an yellow Zoa Colony and the right side covered with a orange Zoa colony. The back upper side was covered in some type of purple substance the LFS said it was sponge, but I think it is some type of purple algae. The lower bottom of the rock had about 20 to 30 nice size feather dusters on it.

i guess there IS a possibility of it being an ell, but i highly doubt it. ive never seen a snowflake smaller than about 10", but ive never seen a baby. but im with stdreb, im sure its some sort of worm or something. check the hitchhiker threads, and maybe ull run across a picture of what you saw. another thing, alot of worm and eels and such prefer nocturnal swimming, so keep an eye on the tank once the lights go out.
but me personally, id be moving the rock around that the "cave" is under, just out of curiousity...

My SFE is only 7", was about 6 when I got him. I agree though, its unlikely you got one as a hitchiker. If you did, I doubt he'd be hiding all the time as he'd at least peek his head out looking for food.

I'm going to have to try to get a better glimps of this creature if and when it appears again...I feed the tank earlier, but I didn't see anything...I'll keep looking.
