Snowflake growing horns

Hi guys & gals, I noticed something today on Mr. Snowy, it looks like he is growing horns. I was totally amazed! He has gotten huge since we got him about 8 months ago, he is at least 2 foot long now. I can't believe how big he has gotten. Had to share my discovery. Later Lisa

Has anyone ever heard of this? I have looked through our books and have had no luck in finding anything about them growing horns. It is so cool. Later Lisa

Snowflake morays have tubes for their nostrils. Most likely you have seen these tubes develop. You didn't say where they are, but if they are at the tip of his nose, they are nose tubes, not horns.

Our snowflake eel has tubs growing out of his nose. Our baby one we have also has them, the horns I'm talking about are growing on his nose, out the top...I've never seen them grow out the top. I'm thinking he is reaching full maturity.
