Snowflake Moray

I just purchased a snowflake moray for my 90 gallon tank. I have never had one before so have some questions regarding feeding. My book says I can feed shrimp or squid and they need to be direct fed. How much and how often do I need to feed? I had a fresh clam in the frig so I cut off a piece about the size of a penny, stuck it in the tank on the end of a long

and it pulled it right off and swam away. Is that enough to the day? Too much? Help! I really like this guy and I don't want to loose him.
Thanks.

I have had a snowflake before. Mine lived for several years and appeared to do quite well. one thing I did notice was, depending on its size, I tried to avoid giving it pieces of food that were too large as it would sometimes take a long time for it to swallow them. But, mine was quite small.

Thanks for the information. I just picked up some fresh squid from the fish market. I will feed him a bit more today because he may still be hungry....I only gave him a piece of clam this morning.
It may be a problem for me keeping him from climbing out of the tank. I wasn't told by my fish store that they climbed out or I may not have purchased him. I have a home made wooden cover for my tank that houses my lights. Unfortunetly, there is a space in the back that is about three inches wide that remains open. Filters and a protein skimmer restrict me from making any type of flush covering. I'm going to have to think about this to try to come up with a solution. I don't want to find him dry on the floor. If the water level is lower will they continue to climb up the tank wall out of the water? I wouldn't want to keep the water too low but maybe I could keep it and inch or two down. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
