I am think of getting a snowflake or zebra eel, the will be in a 125 fo with a 2 in Humu Huma, a 5 in striped dog face a 5 in Naso tang and 4 in flame hawk. The eel will be at least 1 1/2 feet long, both are at my lfs at a good price. I guess the question is which one would you get if you had this choise. Thanks in advance.

i love my snowflake. he is awesome. they are also fairly active during the day. they need a secure top as you probably know, but i have found that if they have something such as pvc or something else like that they are much less prone to escape. mine eats krill, silversides, occasionally clams, and squid. he eats squid the most by far which is his favorite food. i occasionally feed my trigger live red minnows(once or twice a month) and he will eat some minnows that the trigger doesnt eat or pieces that fall to the sand. never hand feed your eel, this he will associate your hand with food and eels eyes arent to great and when you clean your tank he might think you have food and bite your hand. the only problem i have ever had with my eel is sometimes he gets a little agressive during feeding time. on several occasions when my trigger was eating some krill on the top the eel swam up and trying to get the krill but my trigger. he let go pretty quick though. good luck with your eel, they are great! bo

Grouperhead how do you feed it the squid? I tried if for the first time this week and he did not seem to take to it. Do you slice it up, feed him chunks or just drop it in whole?

I give another vote for the snowflake!! They are great! I agree with Grouperhead though they do get aggressive during feeding time. Mine opens his mouth and starts to bite at the other fish but always realizes they aren't food before he actually does any damage.
I really like mine a lot and think you should definetly get one!
