I re-did my tank about a month ago, and thought I would post some pics. I took All my rock out and "cooked" it to get rid of a alage problem about 6 months ago. Then added about 30 lbs more of new LR after everything was going good. I have just startet to add new stuff in the last month or so. let me know what you think.

Looks very nice. Your "cooked" rock is coming along nicely, starting to get some color. The new rock will help with the corraline. I have to say, I am really jealous that you can keep red kelp in your tank. My fish would have a feast on that stuff!! Looks really good in the main display.
How is your trigger doing? I have thought about getting one also.

I "cooked" some of my rock when i moved and i was just wondering if you know how long it will take to become "live" again.

Well here is the deal...when you "cook" rock your not killing the Live rock you are making the bacteria in the rock eat itself...if that sounds right??
you remove any externel food source (light and nitrates) as so that all that it can eat is what is causing the problems...
I'm guessing you are refering to when will the rock look like rock you buy. that all depends on what you still have to seed it...coraline and such will come over time but if you add some new LR with it it will greatly decress the time it takes for it to recover.
Like stated my rock is 6 mo old that was cooked. and I would say that abut 80% of what you see was what was cooked...whan I put my cooked rock back into the tank it was BONE white...BUT still live...I beleave that the fact that it is not "Base" or "Bone" rock but in fact still LR it is able to recover in a short time...At 6 mo I can not tell what was cooked and what was bought anymore.

He dose Awsome..eats great...and leaves all my coral and inverts alone This is my 2nd one the first one I ordered from SWF died after 4 days and was replaced with this one who was out and eating the day after I got him. he gets along great with my clown (that my 2 year old son has now named "Pumpkin pie" I don't know why but what ever it's cute) and my purple psudo. Ive heard of people haveing problems with the eating crabs and such but mine seems to leave them alone...(this is a Blue throut trigger)

You'll have to wait along time for spell check, LOL!! That would be nice though, some of the replies on this site would make an english teacher scream! :scared:
I'm glad your blue throat is working out, they had one today at the LFS, I looked at it real hard, but went for a 4" hippo. He is in my qt now.
"Pumpkin pie" where do kids get their names? That's cute. That is really original, have to get him credit for that one!!
