So how does this "deeming" work?

The Dems claim that this little "self-executing rule" is used all the time, especially by the Reps, but it sure doesn't sound Constitutional to me no matter who tries using it. Especially when it comes to a volatile issue like this Health Care reform bill. Is Pelosi that arrogant to think if she tries this, she won't get ousted when she comes up for re-election? Would Obama be that stupid to sign off on this bill, knowing it was passed by some backdoor voting ploy? If he does, then he will defintely be 'One And Done'...

I believe it has been used for procedural stuff like extending the debt ceiling but I don't think it has ever been used for anything significant.
I really don't think they will do it. I think they are using it as a way to force the reluctant Democrats to vote for the bill.
But I honestly wouldn't put it past Pelosi to try it.
Just as devils advocate I wonder if Obama would throw congress under the bus and refuse to sign the bill if they did it. I just don't understand what the Dems are thinking here. They have painted themselves into a corner with this health care bill. If it passes they lose, if it doesn't pass they lose. I don't think I can remember seeing anything like this in my life time, Maybe Nixon's Saturday night massacre.

The funny thing about this, is that when the Republicans did this, Pelosi, and Savage or whatever the name is of the rules chairman is, sued, but unfortunately the judge said, ruled in the republican's favor...
