And I found some that I like but, because of the price I'm hesitant about the quality.
SeaClone 100
BakPak 2R +Reef Ready
Eshopps hang on and in-sump
Has anyone had any experience with these?
I'm also looking for suggestions for protein skimmers around $150.

Those look pretty good! And I know the Octopus brand is pretty good.
I saw they have a hob version too. Have you heard anything about those?

Octo's seem to be the way to go. im guessing your looking a hang on skimmer. and octo's seems to have good skimmers, plus i just read a post from someone who is using a hang on octo skimmer and they said it was good enough for 100g systems....you should be able to get a very good quality skimmer for around $150 give or take...

Actually, as it happens, I just purchased a CPR bakpack skimmer today for my 46 bowfront reef. It was a purchase made after MUCH discussion with the personnel at a very reputable LFS regarding my previous experience with skimmers (not a good track record...and frankly, not really impressed).
I have high hopes for this skimmer, and I can't believe how easy it was to set up. I may just be skimmer-believer again after today...so far, so good. I will keep everyone up to date on the progress with this in my thread.
