that my gold striped maroons will host besides an anemone?? I want to get them something to host because they're hosting bare rock half the time and the return the other. Any ideas??

My clowns are ocellaris, and the host my frogspawn, xenia, and even my long tentacle plate coral

I don't know about maroons, but I'm pretty sure they will host just about anything, like ocellaris

Yup anything they want to, not usually the things you want them to. I would try a
Euphyllia, a frogspawn or a torch.

Any clown has the capacity to host something other than an anemone, but part of it has to do with whether they were wild caught, captive grown, or captive bred. Wild fish will have the highest likely-hood, with captive grown the next highest, and captive bred having the lowest likely-hood.
Personally, my captive bred ocellaris clown has hosted mushrooms and monti-caps (dunno why the latter), but didn't host a frogspawn like I had hoped.

Just make sure the coral you try it with is large enough to handle it (2-3x the size of the clown is best). GSM's can be quite aggressive hosts, if the coral looks like it's getting the snot beaten out of it you should remove it. HTH :)

Yeah, they're wild caught and I was thinking a long tentacle torch. They kinda look more like an anemone but without all the fun of stinging. Thanks for the input. It's very much appreciated.

Oh they'll sting! Just their coral neighbors tho, and they can't pick up and move like a 'nem. give them a good couple inches from anything nearby, they send out tentacles at night.

Yeah, I read that. I was thinking more of the fact that they can't sting me or the other fish. As for my coral, I can move it anywhere right now. They're little frags still. Growing but still little.
