the books say do not keep more than one speicies of anemone in a closed system.
and this is due to the toxic poison released into the water to kill the other speicies, right?
Has anyone been successfull with having two species of anemones?

Yep, 3 different ones. Nearly 5 years.
I dont say this to encourage anyone to try it because you must have a somewhat large system and enough room between them and proper lighting and filtration, maintenance and luck, among other things. LTA, BTA, Majano.

it is possible to house them together for unknown periods of time depending on tank size and filteration but it is inevidable that in the end only one will survive.

Anything can be considered as a pest if its something you dont want or gives you problems.
I consider my xenia a pest. And GSP too. Spread too fast and IS a pest for me.
My majano is in a place that when it splits is very easy for me to remove the halve and I leave in the one I want. They are very nice looking anemones and stay small.
One could consider a BTA a pest as well because, just as mine has twice, they split too. And are much larger.
IMO, there are few true cut and paste answers to cut and paste questions because theres always individual circumstances and experience, ect. to consider. Every system is different and what works for some may not work for others. JME
