my question is i guess can anyone tell what it is exactly it looks to be a baby star fish (appx 2 cm in size) but we dont know if it is a good one for reefs and fish and if it is what we need to do with it since our tank is still extremely new.

Hi,

It's a harmless little astrea (I think that's the right name) starfish. They come in on the live rock, and it feeds on algae, and eat any dead material. Something must be going good in the very new tank, since it looks happy enough.

You will see all kinds of critters, those little astrea stars usually die off in new systems because there just isn't enough food to keep them going. At this point, if it makes it, it makes it. Not all the little critters die off when the tank cycles...or we couldn't call it live rock after the cycle.
