Is your avatar a strawberry Yuma? Is it yours? I have access to one, but I'm hesitant cause it's a softie, but I swear I hear it call to me at odd hours of the day...

Hi there Tizz,
My avatar is a purple Yuma. This pic was taken while it was very young. Mine darken up when they get older. There is a very bright red Yuma owned by a guy in the Sacramento area that makes me salivate. It's on a central Ca reef forum. It is beautiful. Shoot me an email and I'll link you to the pic. If you're considering a single Yuma purchase, this red guy might get your attention. He picked it up at a LFS in Fresno, I believe.

I have access to a couple Yuma's. The "strawberry" one has hues of orange and purple in it... incredibly pretty and around 80 bucks!
Then there's the metallic orange that I like, but don't love...
I keep my softies limited, that way the ones I do put in, know that they are part of an elite crowd, lol.
I only have 2 now...tubbs blues and the LE Tyree neon green toadstool...
I may hafta do me some yumas...

You have GOT to see this guy's red. Myself, I feel $80 is too steep, but if it's really that beautiful then money is not really the issue. If you like it and think it would look good in your display...buy it. I gave $40 for 2 rocks...one had 4 Rhodactis shrooms and the other had about 8 purple Yumas of various sizes. I know that some of the exotic colored Yumas can fetch a premium, but I'm cheap...
...I mean thrifty.

Lauren, since I didn't get an email from you, I opted to post a copy of Jeremy's pic.
This belongs to Jeremy in Bakersfield, Ca and he bought it at his LFS. (Bakersfield, not Fresno)
It's a little more rust colored than I remembered, but I'd definitely buy one.
Here it is...

They look cool, but I like the really bright ones. Thanks for the picture! =)

a few people mentioned aquarium show room on another forum, so I'm going to have to check that out.
I go to Atlantis Aquarium and that place can be a joke sometimes.... One day the manager priced a neon pink yuma for $100 and the next time I went in to get it he hiked the price up to $200... WTF?? I can get plain yumas for $50, but at the fish stores I go to the really bright ones are all $150+

Not a problem. We're all here to help each other out. Maybe you could hook DeMartini up with a few frags. I don't look at CVR very often, but I enjoy looking at pics wherever I go. Tell Jeremy I stole his pic and shared it with the SWF crew.
BTW, I think the blue has the #2 spot in my book.

is that atlantis aquarium in santa barbara?? i just moved up here from Murrieta and couldn't believe at the outrageous prices but then again with the lack of competition the guy can charge whatever he wants. i'm gonna just continue to go to my favorites in orange county and drive them home...very little selection and very high prices...
