solaatary seahore? advice please :)

my lfs has kudas right now and i am thinking about getting one this would be my first seahorse ive read alot about them and know the ones im looking at are cb and eating frozen food o my quesstion is can i keep only one or do i need a pair ive read arguments both ways so any advice/experience would be helpfull.

mine are more active with 2 or more, when i just had the 1 she just stayed in the same place.

Ive always been told it is better to keep them in pairs as they are very social creatures. I have three currently.
I do however know that when I had a maited pair and the male passed, the female passed within a day or so as well....it may have beeen from the loss of her mate I dunno
