i just got me a 20 gallon tank and i wanna start up a nano reef tank...my question is this...
Magnum Canister 350 filter a good way to go?? or is there something better thats not too expensive and how much live rock and sand should i put cuz i dont wanna mess things up the first time...and whats some good cheap heaters and lights out there...and what else do you suggest i should get like the nano fission skimmer...thanks :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:

Hagen makes a dual strip T5 HO For under a hundred bucks. My LFS has 1 set-up on 1 of their tanks and all the corals,etc look great.

i was doin some research and my friend told me about this..."24" Lunar Aqualight 2x65W / 2 Blue-Moon (Coralife)" would that be a good set up for life hahaha cuz i dont plan on buyin anymore lights any time soon

I'll give you some advice that has worked great for me, I f you look at my tank all I run as far as filter is two power heads in tank and two HOB filters one filled with only LR rubble and one converted into a fuge, the KISS method of keeping reefs is IMO the best way to go. Btw KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid lol have fun.

Btw very nice looking tank (I just saw your thread on your tank) ont thing I do suggest on your rockwork (looks great but) keep the sides clear so you can clean the glass you dont want massive build up of algea in those hard to reach spots.

I just started a 20 and I am using 20 lbs live sand (gives me about 1' sand bed), will get at least 20 lbs live rock, maxi jet 1200, h.o.t. magnum, and a coralife super skimmer up to 65 gal., coralife pc 130w.
Its good to look for deals but you dont want to go to cheap, you will end up apying for it in the long run. just like in anything else.
Decide exactly what you want first and build around that.

My 20 gallon so far is gonna have HOT magnum...visitherm 100W heater...24" Lunar Aqualight 2x65W / 2 Blue-Moon (Coralife)...15-20lbs live sand and live rock...i was thinkin of gettin a aquaclear powerhead and a fission nano skimmer also in the future...is that a good set up for the long run???
