thanks! well my calcium reactor takes up the main load of the demands but i will dose some liquid calcium and magnesium when it falls behind some .... and i will dose with some reef builder alk powder like 1 tablespoon every week
kinda helps keeps things in the right ranges

I'm using NatuReefs Alk+ and Ca+ which contain the trace elements and from what I have heard are balanced, as with many of the other suppliments on the market, who knows who the MAD SCIENTIST is but I'm putting my money on Adlof. I have heard alot about this guy Adolf (sp.) who developed NatuReefs additives here in South Florida and all of the comments about him were amazing. From what I have heard he is quite the chemist. I did however have to reduce the salinity level after a few months as it increased to .028. I'll probably go with the Deltec reactor soon as my acro craze is going to need some serious help .
Where are you getting your trace elements from, water changes????
Thanks
James

hey james.... as far as anything other than magnesium, alk and calcium i dont check for anything else other than these elements....
any other "trace" elements i let my once a month water change deal with...... the calcium reactor dissolves the media in my case ARM which also contains other trace elements needed for coral growth....
if ur guna be serious into sps ur guna need a reactor in the long run cost effective and it helps stabalize the alk and ca demand

Great shots murph...you are having some amazing growth with those shots.
The time lapse thing is great for people to see what they have to look forward to from a little frag..

wow I hope my three peices of SPS grow so well (or just survive for that matter since these are my first SPS). I have a peice of hycanthus (I think) that looks and is about the same size as yours in the first pic. One month and nothing significant lol, it polyps out nice though and has an acro crab. I've only had my 3 SPS for a month and if they dont do well will probably be my last. Your pics dont do anything good for my patience!

stanlalee..... sps often take the first month or more to get settled in to a new aquarium so dont expect much growth in the first 4-6 weeks IME....
and as they get bigger they grow faster since they have more branches to grow from
patience is the key!
good luck

worst case scenario my corals die lol
