I have several fish questions and I could use a little help.
Q1 I have a 100g FOWLR that has been up and running 3 months after finishing the cycle. I have 2 fase percs, 3 green chromis', a sixline wrasse and a saddle blenny in the tank and all are doing excellent. Haven't had anything die in the tank since setting it up other than a couple scarlet hermits falling at the hands of other scarlet hermits. I solved that problem by adding some empty shells. Tank has a 5" DSB and 125#LR with great corraline growth. I want to add a showpiece fish to the tank in a couple months after the tank settles in. I'm interested in both the coral beauty and a foxface. Ive heard that you should wait until the tank has been up and running for 6 months before adding a coral beauty. Is that true? My tank never had an algae bloom and doesn't have much on the rocks for the fish to graze on. The rock otherwise has a lot of life on it. Can I add both to the tank? These are the last fish being added!
Q2 I have a 46g bowfront that is starting its cycle with 90# LR and a 5"DSB. I want to eventually turn it into a reef 6 months down the road but want to start it off as a FOWLR until the tank gets established. I have a fish list in mind that included a false perc, another sixline (my favorite fish thus far!) a yellow clown goby, a pearl jawfish and a small blenny of some sort. Does that sound OK for a reef or is that too many fish for a 46g? I also want some inverts like I have in my 100g (emeralds, scarlet cleaner shrimp, feather dusters...). I have a decent lighting package for both tanks dispite the fact that I don't have any corals. What are some good beginner corals?
Q3 Where to sixlines sleep at night? Mine usually finds a spot somewhere around 9p regardless of whether the lights are on or off but I've yet to see where he hides out! Do they bury themselves in the sand like some other species of wrasse or do they just find a hole or crevice?
Sorry for all the questions. After reading the post they look more like essays!
Thanks Bean
