Everyone is like a deer in the headlights about Goni's. They are tempremental but I think the stigma comes from when people first start in the hobby, they are drawn to thier beauty and try one before they know the daily regiment of a truley keeping a consistant tank. If they try one a few years into the hobby they usually have much greater success. *knock on wood*
I more fear the carnations, often misunderstood, but they are very hit and miss also

BINGO! It was a guy that worked as a podunk at a public aquarium, wish I knew his exact name I would give him props for the discovery. He was constantly moving the Goni's into QT because of poor health. Once in QT they did great. He was the one that noticed the old QT tanks leached Iron and documented levels. Addittion of Iron makes all the difference.
The Carnations are all like 10 inch now, just keep expanding more and more. Might even have to cut them back.....perfect new batch for the frag tank.
Last pic is Pink Pagota cup.
