Was bored today and took some shots of the tank. I'm really liking the growth and color I'm getting from the phoenix 14k.
I think I have the most efficient CPR bak pak skimmer out there. This is a weeks worth of crud in between water changes.

Tea anyone?

Ricordea shot W/flash

With out

wow, thanks a lot for the props on my tank
It means a lot and I'm glad you all enjoyed.
Cuddlefish-thanks, the deepwater came in as a little brown stick but has transformed nicely. It is putting out all kinds of little nubs at the base. You can see my mini frag next to it. Right after I got it I snapped the tip off with my clumsy hands in the tank. The coral healed nicely and I saved the tip and it's doing great as well. Definitely the smallest frag I've done haha.

I have a Bak Pak too, how low do you have the collection cup? I am just wondering because mine collect like half of that in a week.
Thanks, James

I have the collection cup sit about 2-3mm under the water level.
here is how I keep my BAK PAK running so well.
My CPR is the bak pak 2R "reef edition",equipped with a RIO 600 pump that has the non-adjustable air orifice. I prefer this to the maxijet set up with the adjustable air mechanism. My buddy has the maxijet version and he is always having trouble with bubble production and tuning it in. Mine is totally "set it and forget it" and it has worked awesome going on 2 years now.
My cpr just hangs on the back of my 29 as my tank is sumpless. I have the base of the collection cup sit 2-3mm under the water level.
The key to keeping the CPR running properly is maintenance. The pump and associated air lines gets very dirty over time and need to be cleaned periodically. I clean mine about once a a month. The most crucial step to insure your CPR bubbles properly is that you must make sure that all of the air lines are clean and clear of debris and salt creep. On the actual pump, where the air lines hook up, there are two air orifices that clog very easily. These MUST be clean of debris or you skimmer will not bubble to it's fullest potential. That's basically all I do and have had great success with the CPR.
