if that sponge is out in the open thats a bad idea place it in a semishaded area it will grow algae and die if you dont mine died and looked great but on the other side it was covered in algae and it sufacated so beware. just thought I would let ya know before it was to late for it,
other than that they look good. is that alvepora (flowerpot coral in the pic) that is another to watch closely to make sure that it doesnt start pgoing downhill because it wont take long for it to die off when it starts.

thanks for the advice Michael, i had heard about placing the sponge, but he was there becuase i just got him and i wanted o feed him once, but i will be sure to move him, and that first pic, im actually not sure what it is, but i think youre right in saying that it is an alvepora. The LFS didn't have it marked.

Nice looking pics...thanks for the eye-candy. The first looks like a closed up gonipora...a difficult to maintain coral at best. The way to tell is to count the tentacles on each polyp...24 for gonipora...12 for alveopora.Yours looks like a gonipora.

Isnt the owner of that claw is a coral banded shrimp? Your cleaners and fish are a good meal for him i think

Hhands361,
Quick question. Do you have all this stuff living in your 55 gallon with only 2 x96w lights.
I am looking keep some similar items in my 180 gallon but dont want to spend 1000 bucks to light it. I was thinking around 540w would do the trick. Just curious if those were your only light source.

Okay everyone. Yes, all of those corals are living under those lights and everything is doing fine. You are right, i checked and it is a gonipora, and it isn't open because i just had acclimated it. Even today, 2 days after that picture, you can see much change, and the polyps are extending more and more. Yes that is my favorite survivor, SHrimpy poo the CBS. He was one of the first inhabitants i have ever had, and i have seen him grow, and he would never eat a fish or shrimp. He may get testy sometimes, but he would never eat a fish and never has. thanks guys
