Emerald Crabs took care of my problem.
Also, test your water that's coming out of your RODI system. Might be time for a filter change. Is your tank big enough for a tang?

Well, I'm pretty sure it was my emerald crabs that took care of it, as I saw them eating it, they even took care of my bubble aglea. But I also added (at the same time as my emerald crabs) one cleaner shrimp and lots of cerith and nassarius snails (I have no turbos). We left on vacation a few days after I added my clean up crew with lots of hair algea. All I know is when I got back a week later my tank was completely clean and it's stayed that way ever since. And I'm just now starting to use RODI water, as I just got my unit last week. I was using RO water from the Water and Ice store. I don't know, maybe it's because I don't have as good lighting as you do so it doesn't grow that fast.
But, I'm upgrading my lights soon, so I guess we'll find out.
What about adding a yellow tang?

I run 14k bulbs which shouldnt give algae its growth as much.
Some of my stupid mexican snails just sit n the spot for days then finally move. Same with my worthless scarlet hermits. they will like sit on back of shell in the sand for days at a time just lookin around..then finally get up and move few days later. My emerald, cleaner shrimp and jerk hermit crab only like to knock over as much as they can.
I dont really want a tang

Sounds like you have a pesky clean up crew. Maybe you should take them back and get new ones.
I don't have hermits in my DT because I want my snail population to stay (I keep the hermits in my refuge and you are right, they will just sit there for days and do nothing). So did you say you have one emerald crab? Try getting two more and see what happens. All I know is my emerald crabs never stop eating. It's either that or adding a Yellow Tang, which I think would look real nice in your tank.
