Download and install Firefox, DO NOT IMPORT SETTINGS FROM IE, and download and run Ad-Aware. It should be on Download.com. I almost never get popups.

dont know how much mouse or keyboard you use, but alt+f4 will kill windows. faster than the mouse...
firefox and adaware are the way to go though. throw in the google or yahoo toolbar for more pop-up block. i believe yahoo may have a spy-ware stopper now as well.

I don't think I have gotten it... BUT I am sure if you do a Windows Update you download a whole firewall and it is VERY good and I haven't gotten a pop up yet...and if you want it to come up then you can sellect for it to come up

There are still ads that use it - the way around that is - uninstall Flash/Shockwave

most or your internet browswers have their own tool bars now each tool bar has it own pop up blocker attached if you download it tes tool bars are loaded with spyware but if you run your spyware remover you can keep them kinda cleaned out
the adawareSE is a good one
