I am confused about power compact lighting configurations. What is the difference between the square pin and the linear pin? Is one more beneficial then the other? which one of the configuration gives me the most options in lamp choice? Which one of the configuration is more popular and most widely distributed ? What do you guys personally prefer?

My pc's are straigh pin. I dont think there is any difference in output.

My 28/32's are square, my 55's are straight. No preference, both are readily available. The only real difference between them seems to be that the straight ones were designed in Germany and the square or Panasonic style originated in Japan.
