Its hard to tell without a better pic, something for scale, and some kinda description but it looks like maybe a carpet anemone

Whatever it is it is a beautiful piece.

Could also be a plating Hydnophora sp., or Merulina ampliata let's wait and see what others say.

Hey Lois, go check out Bornemans coral book around page 281 or so and look at the Merulina ampliata. then tell me what you think.

HMMMMM...It seems like the "indents" in Mattz are a little more defined (or deep) But we may be getting close....
I just know I want one LOL......

That's me I've looked at pictures and looked at pictures and when I think i'm getting close I end up with nothing and the same question, What is it? The lfs I got it from is closed now but they did not have a clue when i bought it. Hey looks like I have a super rare coral lol

Check out the horn coral picture on the dr's site that looks like it but all the rest show the horn coral as a branching coral so i dunno
search: Hydnophora exesa ???????? maybe
