Something in or on my live rock

I have a piece of live rock that has something coming out of it...well, it comes out and then goes back in. I tried to take a pic but you really can't see it so I'll describe it the best I can. It's very tiny, it comes out and looks like a little stem, it's black and brown, little stripes. Then it opens, one is small, the other bigger...it looks like a sunflower but a brown/tan color...if it gets scared, it goes back in...what is it? Sorry my description isn't the best...my husband can't even see it and thinks I'm nuts!

It is probaly a peanut worm. IF you do a search on peanut worms you will find a tan and brown stripped worm with a head that has little tenticales on it.
It is very beneficial.

Ok, its NOT a peanut worm. It's more along the line of the feather duster but would the body be inside of the live rock! I wish you guys/gals could see it! It's cool, I just want to know what it is!!!

Mine don't seem to care if it's light or dark, they go in and out all day! They stay out for a long time but go back in if someone swims by.

Mine also does not care if it is day or night just if something scares it. Like a 6'2 man looking down on it
