I woke up this morning to see something swimming in my tank, kinda looked like a cross between a shrimp and cucumber, tan to clear with long attenas, and he definitly was swimming, but having a rough time of it in the current. Kinda looked like a brine shrimp. So I was wondering since I feed my fish brine shrimp, (Sallys from san francisco) if they can be frozen alive and maybe end up at the bottem of the tank and come alive and grow, because it was about 1" long, and out of the package they are only 1/8" to 1/4" at the biggest.
I have 20 lbs of live rock, 1 coral banded shrimp, 1 emerald crab, 1 sally lightfoot crab, 1 cleaner clam, 20 hermit crabs(10 red 10 blue)20 snails, 2 percula clown, 1 yellow tang,1 spotted puffer, 1 serpent star, 1 orange linka star, 2 yellow damsels, 2 domino damsels, 1 4 stripped damsel, 1 yellow tail damsel, 1 velvet damsel, 1 green polyp, and one yellow polyp colony, and maybe some feather dusters floating around somewhere. I put a duster cluster in, but the fish ate most of them I think. I also have a yellow fan and a yellow cucumber. The tank is 55 gal, and I'm using sunpro 24 hour lighting system, fluval 350 filter, and a protien skimmer. All my levels are good except nitrate, which is testing in excess of 50ppm, but I think the test could be flawed because nothing is stressed and everything is doig really good, the tanks been up for 3 years and all this has been in for the last 3 to 6 months. I just don't know what it was swimming around in the tank. :help:
