Something on Chirstmas tree rock what is that?

The spot just looks like a spot where the tissue died off.

Yeah, I agree, looks like dead/dying coral. The rock is covered in porties SPS coral and the worm is essentially a "hitchhiker" on the rock. Be sure you're providing conditions that SPS requires (excellent water quality, good flow, high light).

Sponge? I have some of that and I have just been calling it a sponge.
