Something to clean the sand

We are needing something that will help keep the sand a little nicer.
We have 2 GSM's, 1 fuzzy dwarf lion, 2 chromis and 1 red snapper (trying to GIVE AWAY!!!!!!!), as well as 3 turbo snails.
Any ideas?

hermits and nassarious snails would be best bet. after that a sally light foot and fighting conches are good choices as well.

It is a 55 gal.
Hermit crabs? The fuzzy won't bother them?

I am not sure about the others in your tank as far as hurting one. But the Diamond goby is a nut about cleaning, but he will eat some of you pods too.

If it is really bad, you can also lightly syphon off the tops of the LS to remove any detrius..

UGH forgot about the fuzzy. yea, you're in trouble. you'll need a fish that won't fit in the lion's mouth. maybe one of those strawberry hermits (the ones that are like 2-3" wide?)
may want to ask again in the aggressive forum, i don't know how they do CUC's.

Will the fuzzy be able to break the shell of the hermits or snails? I wouldnt think so, I know that my Volitan has grabbed a couple of them before but he always just spits them right back out...

i've heard of dwarfs picking up clam shells and dying from them. not sure if they would eat a hermit, but i would bet they'd try

Well, he isn't really aggressive. He is actually quite small. We have a crab of some kind that snuck in on our coral and I was sure that he was going to die within a matter of hours, but it has been almost a month and he is still crabbin around.
I was thinking of a goby of some sort. Or maybe some snails. Fuzzy never really bothers anyone and no one (FOR SURE) bothers him.

We will see though. I think I have to get rid of the snapper or my bioload is going to be off the charts. He eats everything in sight, except stuff on the sand. If it floats, he eats it.

I just read an article online that says you do not want sand sifters. I'll see if I can find it.

I can't find the article but it said cleaners eat all the beneficial stuff in the sand.
