I don't know what happened. I have been doing everything right for this coral and all of the sudden this disgusting looking growth appears from nowhere on one of the heads.
I can't win sometimes. Can anyone help me with this aquatic tragedy? :( :( :( :(

I've been picking these things out every other day - but darned if they don't just keep growing back.

Nope. I have been pretty successful using rainwater that I collect via a 29g tank that sits in my front yard next to the broken washer and dryer combo.
Don't worrry.....I'm not a HillBilly. The washer/dryer combo has been in my yard for several years now, but it doesn't look that bad. We have landscaped around them quite nicely and I think they give our yard character. :)

I would definitely mix up some kalkwasser paste and squirt the h$#l out of that. Definitely don't want it so spread like it did in Broomer's tank.
:D :D :D :D :D

I have heard that the best method of control for problems of that nature is to pinch the invected portions until they burst. Then simply pray they don't return...or you could randomly add assorted unwanted pest type algaes to grow over the infected areas which will consume them and hide them from view. At the same time the massive amounts of algae will clean your water and boost the failing economy of third world nations....lmao.

I simply can not believe that you guys can not identify a Cirolanid Isopod when you see one. Get them out of the tank as quickly as possible, don't let it bite you or you will soon start looking like this thing. It is much like a reef cancer or like having hair algea as it slowly takes over. I'm not sure a UV and or a Ozonizer can kill these things. :D :p ;)
Good one guys.
Hey Ryan, How about a new StrongBad comic ? Please

Well kalkwasser doesn't seem to phase it.
I removed as many buds as I could - but they still came back pretty fast.
To my amazement last night - as I was leaning over the tank eating a piece of pizza, a small piece of Domino's fell into the tank.
Immediately - several of these loose buds started to migrate towards the sliver of pepperoni that settled on some star polyps.
Within minutes - these unknown creatures began to congregate on the tiny morsal of pizza - and they started to assemble into a colony.
I tested my ammonia, nitrites and nitrates - there were no spikes.
I think this thing actually filters the tankwater somehow.
