my tank is on a wood stand on tile, and has two pumps making 95% of the tank noise. one of them (the smaller one) is an aging little giant and makes most of the noise. i would like to replace it, but i that is another issue. both pumps are on home made stands, made from 2x4 and acrylic.
i was thinking about something like dynamat to put on the stand legs and platform, and the inside of the stand. that could get pricey, but how much? also, are there other materials that will work like dynamat that can be homemade, or much cheaper?

For my Dart i took a piece of 1" Blue insulation board(Celotex) and sandwiched it between 2 pieces of 3/8 "plywood then i bolted the pump on top of that to my stand frame.I have no vibration transfer or noise.

corkboard. I bought a package of corkboard in the stationery isle and stacked two to have a tight fit on the iwakii pump. NO noise at all.
