I must have posted this 3 times today....
I know where you can get it shipped to your door. Not as cheap as picking it up locally, but for those of us with no Home Depot within a several hours drive (even so, they won't buy anymore this season since it is for "sandboxes" as they say)....
Email me, and I will tell you how you can get it for $10 for a 50 pound bag. Shipping, in my case to Iowa, was $16 a bag.

HD here did not know anything about it. They said they have some fine sand for pool filters would this work. Going to look and soon.

This"filter sand" will be far too fine of grade for a proper sand bed.It will pack down,and you will end up with a deep cement slab,instead of a deep SAND bed...
