Southdown Sand Size

i have been advised against using the play sand due to the fact that it is much more likely to pack very densly. is this true? i have talked to quite a few aquaraists that say to stay away from it. otherwise, does it need to be rinsed before using?

Very interesting article, thanks for sharing it. Makes me wonder whether I stand corrected on a few things or maybe I would like to see another 200 bags tested

If it is densly packed wouldn't your anarobic zones form with a shallower depth? JMO however throw some larger partical on top its imposible for snails to turn over in the stuff.
