Thank you for checking it out yes this is a shot of my living room in the vid its kina embarrasing to show how cluttered it all is but at least I can say all the stuff gets daily use, we have a very loud and busy house lol
I hope it's mildly interesting to note that corals apparently become sensitized to vibration stress in ways similar to the chemical sensitizations they show in aged pico reefs...meaning I turn up two very powerful pa systems loudly on a daily basis with full live music and they don't close up. All new specimens do at first, but in about a month they will open, feed and do normal activities even under moderate sonic shaking which I find interesting.
in these shots the palmtop reef can be plugged into a car to run 12v dc for extended periods. Both the heater and the lights work to keep it on full life support for long trips. You simply take these plugs and put em into a 12 vdc converter for charging a laptop. In the summer it can ride on a mount that holds it in the passenger floorboard right in front of the two air outlets, these cool it regardless of the ambient temp in august

in the vase reef it's just with an airstone. But this is a whisper 100 meant for a 100 gallon tank going into just a one gallon vase...it has to be bled off with a valve to get the flow just right. Since the vase has a plastic lid that fits exactly on the inner diameter of the vase neck, all the splatter is directed down into the bowl, with no saltcreep, and the result is evaporation restriction that takes the gallon vase out to a three day topoff window, as good as any large tank so it's very stable. This is fully repeatable and verifiable by anyone, a trip to wal mart will do. get a large glass vase and then a plastic lid from the garden center meant to hold potted plants. Invert it, it will sit right inside the vase that is 90% of the entire design.
The square tank has a continuously lit refugium that constantly pumps oxygen when the light is on. It is lit separately from the display lights so it can go opposite of them through the night cycle, when the dark corals up front need oxygen the most. since the square tank is sealed, it does not ever evaporate and it runs at 1/2 gallon due to this design element. See how there is a black metal clamp in the center of the tank to hold on the lid, which is pressed against weather stripping?

in seven years I've never noticed something in that pic with the car...the reef is getting tilted forward and you can see the water line pressing up against the top lid, but not coming out, that shows how good the seal was I guess lol
mainly I've never noticed because most forums do not post pics this large, since you guys allow so much bandwidth the new sizing is showing new details to me. cool
