I purchase my saltwater from my LFS. The owner says he has his water at 1.026 specific gravity. I was wondering if I should continue to only use his water or if I go to another fish store to get water and their water is a lower specific gravity will it harm my tank?
Thanx for all the help.

It wont harm your tank, BUT dont forget thats what the LONG, PATIENT ACCLIMATION PROCESS is all about! Read about it and follow directions in the blue tab to the left!

It's way more fun making your own water. Try it.

What is your intention? Reef tank? Fish Tank? your SG depends on your intention!

Yes but you can keep fish, corals and inverts content at 1.026 but not all 3 at 1.022-23. Keep that in mind, thats probably why his LFS has it set on 1.026.
