splash cover - keep it on tank or remove it ?

what do you do with your splach lens cover? My lfs said removing it will make tank more intense. I removed for two days, this morning my canopy and pc were full of evaporated salt water, don't think it's a good idea. what's your opinion

Just got back from vaca. Nobody replied? Keep it on. It's easier to clean the shield than the lights.

KEEP IT ON! I Have lost three fish from having the smallest amount of uncoverd top. For the sake of your fish keep it on. It's not there fault they don't know any better.
