LFS is moving to a larger store so they ran a great sale could not help picking up this orange Ric as you can see they are getting ready to split bottom one has four mouths never seen that. My question is when they spit do they get any separation or do you have to frag each one

yes but will there be any space between each one or will they be touching I guess my question is more of a fragging question as you can see they are growing close together and when they split they will be more clustered I will search the site for info on fragging rics

Nice rics. You can take a pair of sharp sissors and cut them leaving a mouth on each section and they will heal up pretty quick. When you do cut them keep them apart or they could rejoin. It usually tankes abotu a week for them to heal completely to where they don't even look like you fragged them. Very hardy coral.

Thanks friend actually you are the reason I got them I saw the pic you posted so once I cut them and they heal I can take a chisel and split the rock and have two individual pieces

You should chisel the ric off first then cut it or it will likely reattatch unless you give it some space apart form its better half. I always try to chisel enough to take a pair of bone cutters (dikes work fine too) and slit the fragrock it is attatched to then split the ric. You can take it out of the water and take your time, it won't hurt it. It will slime but nothing to worry about.
Try to keep a mouth on each and it will heal fast, but even if you cut through a mouth you would end up with two or even cut without a mouth one would grow, just take longer.
