Splitting Ricordias???

Can you cut up Ricordias like you can regular shrooms? Can you just move them out of the light and make them move like others?
I'm getting another 3 huge blue ricordias today, and I want to experiment. If I CAN cut them or make them move like other shrooms, then how long should I take?

For some reason I don't think you can cut a ricordia like you can a shroom. I think you have to make a cutting of the polyps and attach it somehow. I would check out www.garf.org they have info on propagating pretty much everything.

I would wait for the Ricordia's to acclimate themselves into your tank befor you begin fragging them. If you wait a little bit the Ricordia will form 2 mouths and split on it's own. If you don't want to wait I agree with pbuck, check out the GARF propagation page!
