hey kids,
my lta over nite decided to split.
woohooo
does the clone typically move around? i have read conflicting threads of some who have stayed put and some who have moved. the resident clown is bouncing back and forth between the 2. also, will the clone and origin start fighting with one another?
also, just for my fyi, if an anemone splits, does that typically mean that it loves my water conditions? my hammer coral has new growths on it and my green eye zoos are also growing.

If its splitting then I'd have to ask if its really an LTA?
Otherwise then I'd like to belive that you have a system that has low nitrate, good lighting system, good water movement, and food. If you've done that then it should be a happy place for just about any anemone.
Where in the tank is yours, on rocks, in substrate?

when i purchased it, it was listed as a bta. the tips were bubbled but it was white. when i brought it home and put it under my pc's, it tripled in size, turned a nice brownish color, and the tents were no longer bubbled; but rather long and straight.
before it split, it was about 5" across (using my fist as a reference when i hand fed it)
both origin and clone are still located on the rocks, maybe 1" apart. the clone does inflate, but also spends quite a bit of time deflated. i'll snap pictures when i get home.
ph is a steady 8.1, temp swings from 80-82, i think everything else is ok (test kit is on its way out).
i have 5 healthy fish and corals that are growing... cant ask for much more than that, right?

Ok I was a bit confused at first when your top post says LTA, but then you say listed as BTA, they are on the rocks and splitting. Now thats BTA behavior there.

i was confused myself because i only saw bubble tips when they were under the halides, but the anem looked terrible. i put it under my pc's, and the tentacles became long, not bubbly, and it like, tripled in size and turned a nice brown color.
update: the origin seems to recovering. he doesnt open up as big as he did, but he's still nice color and seems to be moving. the clone has only moved a bit, but is starting to grow
