sponge filter

Is it ok to use filter media for a hospital tank. If you are treating with copper or medications, couldn't it get absorbed in the sponge? Is it better to have this or not?

i use a sponge filter in my QT and it has worked fine! from what i know the only thing that would remove the copper or other meds would be carbon or a water change... so remove the carbon b4 adding any meds. also if you use ur sponge or other filter media in you QT dont use it anywhere else some of the meds would still be in it even if you clean it good.
