i thought a sponge filter is a circular sponge with a small airdrome in the middle of it, is that wrong? If not can I just put my cycled tank water in my QT tank? Like half new half cycled?

a sponge filter could be all sorts of different shapes and sizes...but basically its porous foam? lol...and yes you can just use your cycled tank water for your QT water...half and half or even all cycled...personally I use all cycled water in my QT...that way I also get more of a water change in my display tank
