sponge on zoas

I have these zoas that I got from another hobbyist. I love the color of these little zoas but i don't love the sponge that is attached to them.
The main mother colony had this spong on it from the hobbyist. Now i have done everything to kill this sponge as these zoas are on a plug. I have taken them out and scrubbed them with a toothbrush only for the sponge to come off but now re- grow back again. It is soft and horrible looking and is covering the zoas.
Has anyone else had this before??
I am continplating on tossing these out as i don't want this sponge in my tank on my live rock. The only other thing I was going to do was to try and get some of the zoas with no sponge on them off and attach them to some live rock.
Even my new very bright T5's won't kill this sponge.
