I've just bought some new live rock and it has dyeing sponges on it ( i have no idea how the owners ammonia was even sane!) and i've got it in a new separate tank, can I just chip off the sponges and leave them in the curing vat? Could I just frag off all the gps that is on the rocks? Will the ammonia kill them overnight? Could i chip the gps off with a chizel leaving the sponges?

from what i have read you could scrub them off with a metal brush then just do ther regular curing process
thats what i did when i started servicing a new tank that went to sh_t
have fun:D

ya think i could just break the gsp off as well as all the other corals and put them in my tank so they dont become destroyed in the curing proccess?
