I have an orange sponge tube like about 2" in diameter it has holes at the top and on the side which open and close, it is growing out of one of my live rocks it is getting coverd with corline alge. Should I leave it in direct light or not? also does it need to be fed. If so what?
Thanks

It is a filter feeder, so in a mature tank it won't need to be fed.
It is not photosynthetic, so algae growing on it is not a big problem unless it becomes so much that it doesn't allow water to flow through it. Water enters throught the small holes on the side of it and leaves through the big hole.
