Sponges showing up

I had this little piece of Clove polyps that I wedged into my rock work back in May when the tank was moved from our old home.
Are these blue and red sponges common to show up ???
I have several areas or white ones but not these colored ones. One of the large white ones is about to take over a stalk of my Frogspawn.

Tanks...... Warren

yes ive seen many different colors, do you dose with phytoplankton? if so stop till the sponges are gone . they will also thrive in a more nutrient rich enviroment

Yes I do use DT's. Lots of Feather Dusters, and Coco Worms. Nitrates are zilch, phosphates nor other bad prams issues either.(Big sump-fuge.) Other than the one big white one invading my Frog stem.
I thought that sponges showing up and thriving where a sign of better water quality??

They seem to be firmly imbedded. I do not thing a baster-"blaster" would move them out. I do think they are "sorta" cool looking too.
