Spray foam background

Anyone have experience with using polyurethane foam to create a background in a marine tank?...I'm tearing down my 215 and going barebottom with plans on sculpting a fake background to hide plumbing...

Check out --. A lot of people there have been doing it. Seems like the jury is still out as to whether or not it holds up long-term.
I plan on doing it for my next tank.

Seems like most reefers are using the Beckett black waterfall sealant. A few of the people I've talked to have said that once the sculpting is complete that you have a few options, 1) epoxy coat it 2) fiberglass it? 3) leave it as is and cover the surface while still damp with aragonite sand and let the coraline algae cover the surface.
I've decided that I'm going to use eggcrate to create the internal structures and for the flat panels for the bottom...(barebottom tank) but I'm going to cover the bottom of the tank with foam as well....
I purchased a can of the foam today and will do some trial/error testing to see how to work with this material. I'm going to have 7 sections that will be connected with hidden zipties and create a design so that the panels interlock. Mostly to hide the 2 huge megaflows inside of the tank...
I'm going to take my time, but I already have the design concept figured out.
I have some huge, ultra cool pieces of LR that I'll use.

I opted for the epoxy and it worked out rather well after some trial and error.I had to let the epoxy start to set before i applied it or the sand would just run .
I was inspired by this tank built by Kannin on --, but wasnt even able to get it close to looking as good.

Makes me wonder how much water volume I'm going to lose..I kinda figure10-15%...
Since this is going to be a long process, I'm going to move my posting on this over to my build thread...
