Spring butterflies

Since spring is in the air, I was hoping to see some butterfies drifting about....

possibly one of the most beautiful fish. how long have you had it? what do you feed it? how big is it?

Do you have a problem with the copper banded picking at your coral? I recently bought a longnose butterfly and am curios. So far I am having good luck, but my butterfly and frog spawn have only been together for a few days?

The long nose should not bother any corals but will eat featherdusters if you have them.

That is one beautiful butterfly, I actually wanted a copper banded instead of the longnose but I am a little sceeeered of them. I will try to post my longnose if she will sit still ong enough.

Not to butt in on a thread but Dogstar, I have a question about the Long Nose Butterfly,

Do you know if it will nip at Xenia or other long polyps? I've been wanting to get one for my 180 but I'm scared it will nip at the Xenias and other star polyps. :help:
I've also been looking at the cooperband but hear the same thing. :help:
Basically I really want a butterfly for my reef tank, any help is greatly appreciated.

My long nose does not bother any of my coral. I have xenia and frogspawn so far. I would guess that every fish is different, I monitor mine just for safety but so far so good.

Itchy- Do you think that your's doesn't bother the corals because you are able to feed it well thru flakes or other frozen diet? Just wondering, because I have heard also that if you are able to get them fed often, they will leave the corals alone. :notsure: Thanks for the response.

on butterflies its like hit or miss either it will chop on the corals or not,...

i guess i got lucky cause i have a CBB that only eats aptasia(sp). i have had the CBB for about a year and it doesn't pick on anything it shouldn't. i have green star polyp, pipe organ, xenia, frogspawn, and some mushrooms and zoos.
that's a great pic of your CBB, here is the best one i could find of mine.
