This is my first question of many as I am new to the hobby. I have been using distilled water for my water changes, and I see there is other options. What is the difference between bottled distilled and b ottled spring water besides price? which is better?

The problem with spring water is that it comes from underground. It may have all kinds of minerals in it which may be bad, Unfortunatly you never know what is in it. And the amounts can vary even in the same brand.

Distilling the water will remove many of the impurities, but as JavaJoe stated in a recent post, the method of distillation can create different problems. In his case, copper was being used which resulted in some die-off on his live rock. Your best bet is to test whatever water you plan to use. Some people have good tap or well water and can use that. I buy reverse osmosis water from Wal-Mart, $0.58/gallon.
