sps at the bottom of tank?

i just returned my 150w version of the outer orbits for the 250w version.should be receiving it on monday or tuesday...it has a total of 729w. 2x250w hqi, 4x54wt5 and some led's..i have a 90g tank 25" deep..will that light be enough to keep sps near the sand or do i have to keep near the top...

its the current usa outer orbit fixture..with stock everything.comes with a electronic ballast and 10k bulbs..i plan on switching the bulbs for the phoenix 250w 14k very soon. within a week..

well, my tank is 25 inches deep, and i had sps on the sand bed, doing fine under 250 watt hamiltons(not the best 250 watter for PAR), so i would say it can be done.

thanks for the input guys..i got the lights today and already installed them....and man its briiiiiiiight.im deffinelty replacing the 10k for the phoenix 14k...10k's are to white for me...i might have to get a chiller also cuz my temp went from 81 to 83 in only two hours...

I disagree with the posts here. Sorta.
I have a 150 gallon with 250 watt DE bulbs, pheonix 14K, so I pretty much have the same as you.
I can keep SOME SPS's near the bottom. I have a lot of monti caps really low in the tank, but I have a blue tort about mid way with one branch growing down and one growing up. The one growing down is almost white (just moved him up last night) and the one growing up is a nice sky blue.
So the high light corals will do OK from the midway point up, but the lower light SPS's can be placed anywhere.
