well ive been kinda MIA for the past month or more.... lots of things goin on with work and vacation time that i havent had much time to care for the tank or talk on this site... most things are doing well i lost a few corals this last week due to a magnesium drop over the past few months ... i had been lazy like i said and not around much to keep up on the tank so a few things suffered... im getting things back on tract so some things should be turning around but for the most part most corals are still doing great and growing nicely
first is my acropora hyacanthus... aka table coral

next is a green with blue tipped slimer acropora yongei

next there is an acro sarmentosa to the right a blue tipped slimer in the center a birdsnest above another sarmentosa ion the bottom right corner and a green slimer in top right corner

thanks wangotango.... i think i had the blinds open might make it appear brighter...
coraljunky this tank is 19 months old now.... its done really well for the most part this last month i kinda lost tract of the Calcium, Alk and Mg for a bit just thought my reactor would keep up with it but it was fallin behind so a few corals suffered
nietzsche.... i got that squamosa about 16 months ago it was around 8" then... it grows fast and uses tons of calcium and alk since its shell is so thick... i think when i first got it at the LFS it was $125 at that size.... i run 3 pendants over the tank the outside ones are Phoenix 14K 250W HQI bulbs the center is a Ushio 20K 250W HQI.... i tried the Ushio in the center cuz i wanted to buy one bulbs first b4 i bought all new ones since they are pricey lol

Awsome pics as always. Do acroporas need metal halide lighting? I am going to have 14 39watt T5 bulbs over my 125 gallon tank when its done. Would that be enough lighting for acropora?

They don't need it. I've got a couple different acros under T5, and most grow about an 1/8th of an inch a week if my calcium and alkalinity are good. You'll be fine.

thanks everyone for the nice remarks as always!
kevin34 u can get away with T-5s as long as u keep them up higher with good water parameters

bill109 yeah i have a large RBTA in there he doesnt move off his rock i got him such an area where he stays place he will occasionaly bump a sps coral here and there but no major damage has been done
hefner... thanks some were smaller some were bigger but for the most part i have grown most of these corals out from frags or small aquacultured pieces... ill share some pics in a minute
