Most of you have seen my 3g pico.
So anyways I have been wanting sooo bad to keed an sps hord coral or an sps leather.
The tank has 18w 50/50 14 000k builb. The lights are strong enough to hold a xenia and a a hammer head coral. I know that because I vae a hemmer and a xenia in it. I have had them well over 4 months.

probably not the par and overall volume of light would be too low. if you got one to survive it would be something like a montipora capricornis or digita, or maybe a deepwater acro, but I dont think its going to be enough light. even if they survived for several months it could just be a slow decline to death.

FWIW,
I wanted to add some monti cap under my 260w PCs. The more I researched the more posts I found stating that while they may grow well, there is a tendancy for them to turn brown. The whole reason for adding a monti cap was for the bright green or orange color so I've decided not to try it unless I upgrade to T5.

ya 260W for how many gallons? 18W for a 3 gallon tank is pretty good.... thats why I ask. especially if he gets it so its an inch or 2 under the lights

I would not use that pico as a good example for anything. he is keeping clams under PC lighting. I know first hand that even under 500+ watts of PC clams die of light starvation in the long run.

Also, the OP asked about SPS. All I see are a bunch of zoanthids, one plate in a beaker and one LPS that was only 2 weeks old at the time of the pic. Like RKZ stated the clams are prolly not going to fare well under PCs, especially the one with damage.
